DAY
ONE:
Day One will begin with a morning on the water evaluation, during this
time, the needs of all participants will be determined to properly cater
the course to each individual. We will also review basic skills to ensure
that each student has developed proper and safe form as a kayaker. After
completing the morning session we will go to the Penobscot River for an
afternoon of moving water fun!
DAY
TWO:
On the morning of Day Two, we will go to the river in the morning and
work on identifying river hazards and learn whitewater rescue techniques.
This will prepare us for an afternoon of running whitewater and learning
play boat skills. We will explore our options of running other Maine rivers
in the area for a day of whitewater skill development while seeing new
and exciting rivers. This optional river trip will depend on mother nature
and the collective goals of the students. We will focus on advanced whitewater
kayaking skills throughout this course. Came Paddle with us!
